Tuber uncinatum is a truffle well known to the aficionados in the Balkans, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, even in southern Russia. It belongs to the same family as t. Aestivum / Scorsone, a truffle that starts its fruition right after the summer truffle varieties.
Cultivation of this truffle is restricted due to its need for high altitudes and shade requirements as well as its abundance in nature, hence no lack of truffles!
The commercial value of Tuber uncinatum is quite good due to the fact that most are found in the wild, not cultivated, as well as its delicate aroma.
Fruition: end of August till end of November
